I made a lot of requests before the program started. Value & Vision lived up to my expectations with their enthusiastic and warm sessions. This is my third year of involvement in people development, and for the first time, I felt I saw the ideal Off-JT.
I have had four years of stimulating and meaningful experience. I learned a lot through the sessions and face-to-face chats. The sessions covered a wide range of managerial issues. Every time I sat in a session I really felt excited about how my knowledge was expanding and deepening, and I know the other participants shared my experience.
Thank you for your instruction and heartfelt care during the sessions. For the first time in my life, with the help of your hints and suggestions, I was able to think things through until I found the right solution. What I learned here is a lifelong treasure. I cannot find words to express my appreciation.
I have been with this company for 20 years and I have been through many training sessions during that time. This one was different. It was by far the hardest, but at the same time by far the richest in its managerial implications. I can honestly tell you that it is an outlier among the training that's around.
I was impressed by the joint session with my non-Japanese colleagues. I was overwhelmed by their vitality, aggressiveness, and logical arguments, and was left with a strong feeling that English is a must. My revelation would have been impossible without your thoughtful planning and precise execution.
I intentionally kept away from MBA-type subjects because to me they looked too far from the reality of the sales field that I was working in. During the "practical application of learning in the workplace" session, I was surprised to see one of my colleagues, a branch manager, share with us the results of his analysis of his sales territory using a typical MBA corporate strategy framework. That's the moment I experienced what you call "learn how to learn".
The heaviest homework was in accounting and finance. You warned us by saying, "The higher up the ladder you go, the more frequently you see numbers," and I accepted it reluctantly. As it turned out, these two areas proved to be very useful in my current line of work, and now I feel they will be my lifelong secret weapons.
